Topics of this lecture are the basics of construction and application of biosensors, therefore dealing with the different modules of biosensors, the immobilization of biological compounds on the surface of transducers as well as crosslinking or matrix entrapment.
Design of Biological Molecules and Systems, 2 h/w during the winter semester
The aim of this lecture is a molecular understanding of protein engineering. For this, experimental methods of protein design and evolution are introduced first. Other chapters deal with the improvement of protein properties on a structural basis. Additionally screening strategies and the application of enzymes in unconventional media are discussed.
